Straight Line Quilting

First and foremost, thanks for all the congratulatory wishes on the new book - Peggy and I are so excited. It's really fun to have a coauthor to share the fun. We are featured in the latest issue of AQS On Point - look for us!

Here's the backside of the quilt I'm machine quilting.  Lots of straight lines. Sometimes they overlap. Fun! I've gotten to a good stopping point on this project. I think I'm about halfway done with the quilting (after about 10 hours of machine time so far.) I probably won't resume work on it for a week or so since I'm picking up my mom in Atlanta tomorrow to bring her here for several days. Looking forward to her visit!

We've also been enjoying having Daughter 1 and our SIL staying with us this week. There is a leak in their apartment and they haven't been able to stay there (hard to exist with NO water!) It's been lots of fun to have them around. Daughter 1 got a promotion at work yesterday - proud Mama, I am! And Daughter 2 successfully finished her finals today, finishing up her first year of Pharmacy School - proud Mama, I am! Lots of celebratory meals around here....

I thought some of you might get a kick out of this. This guy was in the check out lane at Hobby Lobby a few days ago. I'd love to know what his Momma thinks about his tattoo!

Speaking of tattoos, would you ever get a quilting tattoo?  I read this interesting post about a group of women who decided to get tattoos while at the modern Quiltcon in Austin earlier this year. Interesting! But I think I'll keep my skin the way it is.

More flower shots from our garden.

Hope you are having a happy, quilty day!

I have thought about getting one but probably never will. If I did, it would be a sewing/quilting one.
