Another non-quilting post...
One of our summer projects was to update our backyard. Some of the work we hired out - building a new retaining wall, bringing in truckloads of dirt, laying new sod. Some we did ourselves - putting in some iron fencing, moving plants around, etc. My husband pressure washed and stained the deck and we got rid of our 40 year old hand-me-down deck furniture. As I usually do in decorating and furnishing, I bought a few nice pieces for the deck (a love seat and two chairs) and filled in with thrift store items and things from around the house- a thrift store side table, a lamp from the attic, an old wicker trunk for a coffee table. But I wanted some art! What kind of art could I hang in an outside room? There is a roof over the deck, so it would be somewhat protected from the weather, but it would still be exposed to the elements.
I found these metal stars at the garden center of a home improvement store for only $4 each. Over the last few weeks, I've been having fun painting them. And here they are. As you can see, they aren't hung yet, but we'll get to that soon.

What a great idea and a good price for them. Your garden will look fantastic
Judy, Love the stars, can you email or call me and tell me where you got them? Also enter me in your fabric winning contest please. Love your blog too.

Judy, I love the stars, have you thought of putting those tiny tree lights around them, that would look great at night. All of your projects are very informative. Please put my name in for the batiks, the old red quilter, Sally
They're so fun! We missed you today.
The stars are wonderful!
