We had a fabulous weekend! We traveled up to Greenville, SC, to attend Daughter 2's Senior Clarinet Recital at Furman University. WOW! That girl can play! As her teacher said, "You smoked it!"

After the recital, her sorority sisters circled her and serenaded her with a song.

Here she is with hubby and me.

Afterwards we went out for milkshakes. On the left is Daughter 2 (now changed into jeans) and on the right is Daughter 1, who did her hair and makeup before the recital. Proud of my girls!

I sewed in the car all the way there and all the way back, of course. Today I'll be stitching with this fabric - reminds me of Spring cookies!

congrats on your daughter's accomplishment. as a former clarinetist myself, I can't help ask: what did she play for her recital?
I played Brahms' Sonata No. 1 in F Minor, Peregi Verbunk by Weiner, and the Poulenc Sonata!
I don't know the Weiner piece, but I've performed the other two, waay back in my university days. congrats on your accomplishment.
I can really relate to your post. I have 2 sons. One just graduated from college last year and is in grad school. He also played clarinet. My younger son is a guitarist. When he would have performances my hubby and I could not help but remember the first concert when the kids only knew 4 notes, lol. We savored those later concerts when they played like pros. So beautiful and such a wonderful experience to watch your kids grow and learn. Music us such a wonderful thing. I know he will play his whole life. congrats to your daughter.
